Madison turned two in December, and for a while now, we have been concerned with her ability to talk. We know she knows what she wants to say, and will often times talk, but she isn't often able to fully communicate what she needs.
So, when we went for her 2 year check up, I asked the doctor what he felt like would be the best course of action to try to remedy the problem. Well, long story short, today we went to see the ENT doctor. He checked her out, and said she has fluid behind her eardrums (we already knew this but it was nice to have it confirmed). Therefore, she is not able to hear as well as most children, and he compared it to her hearing us like we are talking underwater. Poor thing! So, next Tuesday, she will have tubes put in her ears. I am glad that we are finally able to move forward with all of this, and hope that she will begin to talk. Although, once she starts, she might never stop!
